The Taste of Kindness

Updated: Mar 16, 2021

A friend of mine lives in another country, and they are average middle-class income people. Once, they took a road trip and went to the homeland of their ancestors. On the way back home, they bought a box of olives. Those were special kinds of olives that only grew in that area, were soaked in its oil, and had an unusual taste. They afforded to buy one box only and did not open it until I went to see them. They knew I was to visit them and kept it to share the extraordinary delicacy with me. I remember the olives tasting so uniquely amazing, and to me, that is what kindness would taste.
