Vinyl Record Design Memoirs of a Geisha

Conceptually design a vinyl record system for a historical fiction novel "Memoirs of a Geisha."

The color palette is subtle and elegant like the Geisha. The discs are in blue shades with the resemblance of her blue eyes.

The Cherry Blossoms play a big part in the movie, so they are an important part of the designs. They follow through the vinyl, taking the viewer on this journey.

 

The inserts are simpler, to give a break from the heavy designs on the jacket, while the gatefold shows the Japanese culture with the fans. The fan on top is a pop-up.
